As a business, organization and/or institution in Waterloo Region, we hereby fully endorse the 50by30 campaign and its call for the Region of Waterloo to establish a 10-year target of 50% greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction below 2010 levels by 2030 ("50by30"), and to lead a just transition to a more equitable, safe climate future for all. In making this pledge, we are demonstrating our own commitment to lead on the climate crisis, and are calling on the Region of Waterloo to implement the policies, resources and supports necessary to better enable us to reduce our own emissions, to reach the 50by30 milestone and beyond over the next 10 years. We recognize that this work must be grounded in justice and undertaken in solidarity with, and prioritizing the needs of, those most impacted by climate change in our community - and commit to do our part.
